The above environmental data is from an index station in the Pearl Creek School area. The station is located about 2,500 feet south east of the school. The station was installed in the Fall of 2000 and is used for testing and development of environmental sensing applications. We also use this station for testing various forms of wireless and direct communication networks for data collection stations. The station uses Campbell Scientific data-acquisition equipment and sensors. If you have questions about your sensing and data communication needs please contact us for help. Data from this site is also used to provide environmental data for the general Fairbanks area on soil temperature and unfrozen moisture conditions. Please look over the above data and let us know if you have any questions. Do you need help with your environmental measurements? GW Scientific can help with your soil temperature measuring needs from manufacturing, installation, data acquisition, to data analysis and reporting. We make and test our own temperature measurement strings and have experience with measuring soil temperatures throughout Alaska. We recommend Campbell Scientific soil-moisture probes for your data collection needs. These probes can help give you absolute unfrozen soil moisture under the right soil conditions and provide relative changes in unfrozen soil moisture, indications of phase change for active layer freezing and thawing, roadbed thawing for strength and trafficability analysis. Whether your needs are a full metrological station or some simple soil measurements, we can help you meet your project needs.
